Setting up a custom domain

Four steps. You'll need your own domain and access to its DNS settings.

  1. Add the domain to your Link. Open your Link in the Links dashboard, head to the Domain tab, and enter the subdomain you want (for example, music.yourdomain.com). Click Connect.
  2. Add a CNAME record in your DNS. Log into your domain registrar and add a new CNAME record:
    • Type: CNAME
    • Name / Host: the subdomain prefix you chose (e.g. music)
    • Value / Target: submithublinks.com
    • TTL: leave the default
  3. Verify. Back on the Link's Domain tab, click Verify. DNS changes can take a few minutes to propagate, so if it doesn't work the first time, wait a bit and try again.
  4. You're done. Your Link is reachable at your custom URL. We handle the SSL certificate behind the scenes, so visitors get a secure page without any extra setup on your end.

If verification fails

You've got a 1-hour window to get the CNAME right before the setup times out. If that happens, we'll email you with a reminder and you can try again. The most common culprit is typos or missing entries in your DNS.
