Setting up a custom domain
Four steps. You'll need your own domain and access to its DNS settings.
- Add the domain to your Link. Open your Link in the Links dashboard, head to the Domain tab, and enter the subdomain you want (for example, music.yourdomain.com). Click Connect.
- Add a CNAME record in your DNS. Log into your domain registrar and add a new CNAME record:
- Type: CNAME
- Name / Host: the subdomain prefix you chose (e.g. music)
- Value / Target: submithublinks.com
- TTL: leave the default
- Verify. Back on the Link's Domain tab, click Verify. DNS changes can take a few minutes to propagate, so if it doesn't work the first time, wait a bit and try again.
- You're done. Your Link is reachable at your custom URL. We handle the SSL certificate behind the scenes, so visitors get a secure page without any extra setup on your end.
If verification fails
You've got a 1-hour window to get the CNAME right before the setup times out. If that happens, we'll email you with a reminder and you can try again. The most common culprit is typos or missing entries in your DNS.
