Spotify Listener Locations

Our estimation of Spotify Listener Locations can be calculated two ways:

• If a curator users SubmitHub Links to manage their ads, we have access to location data and can tell where they're focused on marketing their playlist
• Otherwise, we look at the smallest artists on the playlist to see where the majority of their listeners are coming from, and try to identify common trends

The second method is an estimate, and can often be wrong. This is why we do not show it in the main curator's page - but only when someone opens additional detail. Unfortunately Spotify does not break down this information on a playlist-by-playlist basis in Spotify for Artists, which makes it next to impossible to accurately determine.
