How do I rate other songs?

Head to submithub.com/hot-or-not and start reviewing other artists' songs. Here's what to expect.

First time: pick your genres

Before you can rate, we ask you to pick at least 5 genres you're comfortable reviewing. These determine which songs we send your way. You can change them later from the Settings tab.

Two types of requests you'll see

• Feedback requests: score the song 1-100 and leave 5+ words of written feedback. Most common flow.
• Genre Validation requests: no written feedback. Score the song, then pick which genres you think describe it from 6 options. See the "Genre Validation" article.

Listen time

At least 30 seconds of listening before you can submit a rating.

Skipping a song

If something's wrong, you can skip without costing the submitter a credit:

• Song not playing: stream is broken
• Wrong genre: song isn't what the submitter tagged (you'll be asked for the correct genre)
• Offensive content: violates our content rules (blocks future submissions from that user)
• AI music: clearly AI-generated (reports the track to us)

Don't want AI songs in your queue?
