Typical retention times
Most playlisters keep songs in their playlists for about 4 weeks. Some keep them much longer (months, sometimes indefinitely). Others rotate songs out after a couple of weeks to keep the playlist fresh. You'll see each curator's average retention on their profile, displayed as a combined figure like "100-200 listeners over 3 weeks."
"Is a playlister allowed to remove my song after 7 days?"
Technically yes, but it depends on the listeners you got during those 7 days.
Our stance: listeners matter most. A curator who keeps your song on for 7 days and gets you 1,000 listeners is a great result. A curator who keeps it on for 7 days and gets you 5 listeners has technically shared your song, but hasn't really moved the needle.
We don't love to see fast removals paired with low listener counts. If a curator consistently shares songs for short periods without generating meaningful listens, it drags down their engagement score. That eventually slides them to a lower tier on our platform, which affects their visibility and earnings.
How to pick curators with real impact
The "listeners over time" number on each curator's profile already does the math for you: 100-200 listeners over 3 weeks is the total impact to expect, regardless of whether those listeners arrive fast or slow. Prioritize curators whose numbers add up to a result you'd be happy with, rather than picking only by genre match or follower count.

Reach out at our support ticket page with the specifics. A one-off removal isn't worth escalating, but if a curator is consistently yanking songs fast, we want to know.
