You don't have to be the artist
You can upload songs by an artist you don't own or manage. Whoever uploads the song gets their own association to the artist profile. Multiple people can each upload songs under the same artist profile from their respective accounts.
Is there a search to find existing artist profiles?
Not site-wide. Artist data on SubmitHub stays fairly private: we don't publish a browseable directory, and we don't reveal who uploads or manages songs under an artist profile. The one place you can search is at upload time, where we match your new song to any existing artist profiles so you can pick one or create a new one.
