When you upload a song you indicate whether it has lyrics or not. If you say it has no lyrics, it goes into the system as "instrumental". We then remove all curators who require lyrics -- so you're left with people who are cool with instrumentals. On top of that, we give a "boost" to their genre match score if they tend to gravitate toward instrumentals > lyrics.
