Some feedback basics
Good feedback should:
1. Prove that you listened to their song
This is the easy part! A good approach is to comment on parts of the song that stand out.
For example, "I like the high notes in the chorus" or "The guitar solo is interesting".
2. Explain why you won’t be sharing it
This is the hard part! We ask artists to indicate whether they want you to be "gentle" or "honest" when declining their song.
Gentle
Don’t critique the song. Refer to your personal tastes instead.
For example, "I usually focus on chill songs” or "We prefer more modern sounds".
Specific and honest
With these requests, opinions and critiques are welcome.
For example, "I struggled to enjoy the vocals" or "The drop felt too predictable".
