Tracking TikTok conversions on your Link

If you run your own TikTok ads, point them at a SubmitHub Link and add your TikTok details so TikTok can track what happens after the click. It works in a similar way to our Meta setup: server-side only, no browser pixel or tracking scripts on your page.

Meta or TikTok, one per Link

A Link can be set up for Meta or TikTok, not both at once. If you're running ads on both platforms, create a separate Link for each so events only ever go to the right place.

What you'll need from TikTok

Two things, both from TikTok Events Manager: a Pixel ID and an Events API token. Unlike Meta, there's no pixel-only option, so both are required for tracking to fire. You will need to go for a Sales campaign, Website conversion, and for the Website conversion, you'll need a Pixel set up.

To set this up:

  • In TikTok Ads Manager, go to Tools → Events.
  • In Events Manager (or under the campaign you're just setting up), click Connect Data Source, which will require a Pixel, which it will prompt you to create if you don't have any.
  • Choose Web, then Manual setup.

  • Select Events API (the API-only option, not the browser pixel).
  • In the Funnels, events, and parameters step, set up the View Content event. That's the one to optimize for on awareness campaigns. Here's all you to check:
  • Finish setup and copy your Pixel ID (the event source ID).
  • Open that data source's settings and generate an Access Token for the Events API. Copy it.

Adding them to your Link

  • Open your Link in the Links dashboard and go to the pixel section.
  • Choose TikTok pixel.
  • Paste in your TikTok Pixel ID and Events API token.
  • Save.

What events we fire

  • ViewContent: when someone loads your Link.
  • ClickButton: when someone clicks one of your buttons. We send the destination they clicked along with it.

Both fire from our servers, so they're not affected by ad blockers or browser tracking protections, and they don't slow your page down.

Testing it

Before you spend on ads, confirm events are arriving. See the "Testing your TikTok events" article.
