Playlist syncing

Keep your Spotify playlist and your other streaming platforms in sync, so when a song goes on Spotify it shows up on your YouTube, SoundCloud, Apple Music, Deezer, or Tidal playlist too. Set it up once and SubmitHub handles the rest.

Supported platforms

• YouTube / YouTube Music (free)
• SoundCloud (free)
• Apple Music (premium subscription required)
• Deezer (premium, though some regions are still free)
• Tidal (premium subscription required)

At minimum we recommend YouTube and SoundCloud. Both are free to sign up for, and once they're connected they mostly take care of themselves.

How to set it up

• Go to your curator profile and open the tab for the platform you want to connect (YouTube, SoundCloud, Apple, Deezer, or Tidal)
• Connect your account
• Hit "Import playlist" to copy your Spotify playlist over
• Once imported, toggle syncing on for that playlist

If we can't find a song on one of your platforms

Sometimes a song isn't on SoundCloud or YouTube at all, or our search can't match it. Those songs are skipped on that platform, and the playlist shows a red "Errors" count. Click it to see which tracks didn't match and why.

Two ways they get resolved:

• Add the link yourself. In that Errors list, hit Update next to a track and paste its URL on that platform. We'll check it and re-sync the playlist.
• The artist adds it. If they later add that platform's link to their song on SubmitHub, our next sync picks it up automatically. Nothing further needed from either of you.

When your playlists sync

• When you share an approved song through SubmitHub: it goes out to all your synced platforms at once
• When a scheduled removal fires: the song comes off every synced platform, not just Spotify
• When you hit the manual "sync" button on your profile page: pulls the latest state of your Spotify playlist into the others

If you edit your Spotify playlist directly (add a song outside SubmitHub, reorder tracks, delete something), the other platforms won't automatically know. Hit manual sync to push the changes through.

Platform limitations

Apple Music: their API is weirdly limited.

• You can't reorder tracks via API, so new songs always land at the end of the playlist
• You can't remove old songs via API either
• To fix positioning or clean up, you have to open the Apple Music app and do it manually
• If you've cleaned up by emptying the playlist entirely in the Apple Music app, use the "I emptied this playlist" option in the playlist's three-dot menu on SubmitHub. It triggers a fresh sync that re-adds every song from your Spotify playlist. Only use it after you've actually emptied the playlist, otherwise you'll end up with duplicates.
• Their auth also disconnects more often than we'd like, so re-authenticating periodically is normal

SoundCloud: 10% to 30% of songs tend to be missing from their catalog. You'll see gaps, and there's nothing we can do about it on our end.

YouTube, Deezer, and Tidal: work well. Songs stay in the same order as your Spotify playlist.

Impact on Engagement score

Sharing consistently across 3+ platforms (including Spotify) earns you the "cross-platform" engagement badge on your curator profile. Artists can filter for curators with that badge when submitting, so it boosts the visibility of your outlet.

To earn the badge, at least 90% of your last 100 shares need to be to 3+ platforms. When you initially sync we will attempt to retroactively update any songs that are synced.

The cross-platform badge will increase your engagement score, no matter how many listeners you have on those platforms. Sharing to multiple platforms will never hurt or reduce your engagement score. The more places you share, the greater the positive impact on your engagement score.
