Submitting to influencers

Influencers are TikTok creators, Instagram Reels makers, and YouTube Shorts makers.

Think before diving in

Influencer submissions are great for generating UGC (user-generated content) and getting your song in front of younger audiences on social. They're not great at driving Spotify plays. If you don't know what you're doing, it's easy to burn through credits fast, so we generally recommend starting with curators (playlists, blogs, YouTube channels) and only adding influencers once you've got a feel for how they work.

One thing to be aware of: unless you attach a special request, all an influencer has to do is include the song in their post. The actual content (what they film, what they say, what the video is about) varies wildly and often has nothing to do with your song. If you want more control over how it shows up, go the "Let me choose" route and/or use special requests.

Two routes

You pick between them at the start of the flow:

  • Auto-select: set a budget, we distribute it for you, with a guaranteed minimum of views and videos
  • Let me choose: browse the list and hand-pick specific influencers

Auto-select

Less work, faster results, but not as much control over who shares it. You'll choose:

  • Platforms: TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or any mix
  • Genres: any that match your song (most influencers are genre-flexible)
  • Market type: Competitive markets (USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Australia) cost more per 1,000 views; Less competitive markets (Spanish-speaking, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa) cost less
  • Countries (optional): narrow further within your market type
  • Budget: a slider that shows the guaranteed minimum views and videos at your spend

Once you submit, we rank available influencers and distribute your budget across them. You've got 30 days to hit the guaranteed numbers. If we exceed them, the extra views are free. If we can't hit them, unused credits come back.

Some quality filters you can toggle:

  • Focus on original content (filters out meme accounts that repost)
  • Skip "talkers" (influencers who talk over the song instead of letting it play)
  • Avoid NSFW influencers

Let me choose

More work, but easier to match your music to the right accounts. You'll see a list of influencers with their stats, per-share price, and genres. Check the ones you want and submit.

How refunds and timing work

The two routes refund differently, and for "Let me choose" there are two stages to know about.

Let me choose, stage 1 (waiting for the influencer to accept): each influencer you picked has 48 hours to accept your song. If they reject it or don't respond within 48 hours, those credits return at the 48-hour mark (batched then, not instantly per rejection). A fresh submission's credits won't bounce back the moment someone passes, so give it the full 48 hours.

Let me choose, stage 2 (influencer accepted, waiting for the post): once an influencer accepts, they have 7 days to actually post the share. If they accept but never post, the credit refunds after that 7-day window. An influencer can request a 3-day extension; you'll get an email and can either let it ride (do nothing) or hit the instant-refund link.

Auto-select (budget): this runs as an ongoing campaign until your budget is used up. We keep distributing over the 30-day window, and any budget we can't place comes back at the end.

So if you just submitted and credits haven't come back yet, check which stage you're in: still waiting on accepts (48-hour window), or waiting on posts from influencers who already accepted (7-day window).

Special requests

Without a special request, an influencer just has to include the song. They don't have to feature it, talk about it, or make the video about it. If you want a specific section used, a shout-out mentioning you or your tour, or any other on-theme direction, attach a special request. It costs extra, but it's the only way to hold them to your brief.

What a share looks like

We work with micro-influencers, which keeps costs low (typically $5 to $20 per share) compared to $500+ with agencies. Normal shares are 10 to 20 seconds, with your song playing in the background rather than as the main focus.

Which route should I pick?

  • Want guaranteed reach numbers and don't care who gets your song? Auto-select.
  • Want to vet each influencer yourself? Let me choose.
  • Want control over what the content looks like? Let me choose, and/or use special requests.
  • Short on budget and want exact control over spend? Let me choose.
