Our policy changed in September 2026. If a track is very likely to be fully AI (our detector puts it at 85% or higher, or the artist declared it fully AI), it can no longer be sent to curators, bought as a package, or sold through SubmitHub Direct. We wrote up the full reasoning here.
The short version: Spotify and other DSPs have started pushing AI music out of their recommendations, so promoting it through us is unlikely to work. It felt wrong to sell a service that probably won't do what it's meant to. On top of that, our personal take is that music needs to remain a human creation.

Where the line is
The cutoff is 85% likely to be AI, and it covers "pure" AI and heavily-processed AI alike. Tracks under 85%, the kind where a human has clearly been involved, are still welcome. AI used as a tool in an otherwise human song is fine; fully-generated "slop" uploaded straight from a generator is not. Writing the lyrics or composition by itself doesn't exempt a track if the audio still reads as fully AI. If your song is flagged after upload you'll see an option to request review, but please do not abuse this feature. If the final audio output relied heavily on AI we will not be able to let it through.
What's not affected
Hot or Not and Meta Ads are exempt, so you can still use those freely (though running ads to AI music is just as limited by Spotify's changes). A blocked track still uploads and lives on its song page, it just can't be promoted through the channels above.
Curator preferences still apply below the line
Plenty of curators don't want any AI in their inbox, even hybrid tracks that score under 85%. Curators and influencers can switch AI submissions off, and when they do we keep AI songs (declared or detected) out of their queue. When you submit an AI-flagged song, we limit your curator list to outlets that accept it and show each curator's AI approval percentage, so you're not spending credits on someone who'd pass just for the AI.
