What do I need to start?

Four things to have ready before you start:

  1. A SubmitHub Link tied to a Spotify URL. This becomes the landing page your ad points to. A track, album, playlist, or artist profile all work. If you don't have one yet, create one first at submithub.com/links/new.
  2. Some credits. Ads are paid for with SubmitHub credits. You set a daily budget and a length, and we deduct the total upfront so there are no surprises mid-campaign.
  3. Targeting decisions. You'll pick genres and regions (any combination of cheap, balanced, and premium markets, or local cities as a focused alternative). You can also optionally list a few artists whose fans you'd like us to target.
  4. Creatives. Either upload your own videos or let us generate them from your Link's artwork and Spotify data.

Decide whether to keep your ad running

During setup you'll see a "Keep my ad running" option. Leave it on and we renew your budget when it runs low (we remind you first) so the ad keeps going; turn it off and it stops at your original budget. We recommend keeping it on, since Meta ads work best run long-term, but it's your choice. See "Turning off auto top-up" if you want to change it later.

Using a package? Simpler still

If your ad is part of a package you bought, you really only need step 1 (a Spotify-backed Link). We handle the credits, targeting, and creatives from there.

Optional: your own Facebook page

If you've got a Facebook page you want the ad to run from, you can connect it during setup. Otherwise, we'll run the ad from one of our own genre-specific pages.
