How rounds work

Your package runs in two main rounds. Round 1 is the learning phase; round 2 uses what we learned to pick the right curators for the rest of your budget.

Round 1: Learning phase

Within an hour of launch, we send your song to a batch of curators using about half your curator credits. These curators are picked based on your song's genre, mood, and language. Responses come in over the next 72 hours.

This round is about signal. Who responds positively? Which genres and subcultures connect with your track? The approvals and declines tell us where to aim the second half.

Once all responses are in (or the response window closes), we email you the approval rate and outline the plan for round 2.

Round 2: Scaling up

How we approach round 2 depends on how round 1 went:

  • Strong approvals (50% or higher): we move up a tier. Round 2 goes to higher-impact curators (bigger playlists, more-read blogs) because the signal says your song is connecting.
  • Moderate approvals: we use what we learned from round 1 (which curator types responded well) and pick similar curators for round 2.
  • Low approvals (under 10%): we pause and refine. This goes into a separate process, covered in the "What 'refining' means" article.

Same email pattern: once responses are in, you get cumulative stats across both rounds.
