If a curator or influencer has approved your song but hasn't gotten around to sharing yet, you've got a few levers to push things along. Timelines differ between curators and influencers.
If it's a curator (playlist, blog, YouTube, radio, etc.)
There's no hard expiration on a curator approval. They can take as long as they need. But you've got escalation options if it's dragging.
1. Chat them first. Open the approval and use chat to nudge them. Most curators respond.
2. Request an update (72-hour clock). 72+ hours after approval, a "Request an update" option becomes available on the approval. It sends them an email and a chat notification and starts a 72-hour clock. If they don't respond within 72 hours, your credit auto-refunds (plus an extra as an apology). Find it by opening the song from your homepage, hitting the Results tab, and clicking the curator's name under "Unshared."
3. Self-serve refund after 30 days. If 30+ days have passed since approval (or since release date for a pre-release song) and the song still hasn't been shared, you'll see an orange box on the approval with a "Refund these credits" button. One click and your credits return. Useful if the request-update flow stalled or you just want to move on.
4. System safety net. Separately, we automatically refund approvals when the curator has been inactive for 30+ days and the approval is 60+ days old. No action needed from you.
If it's an influencer (TikTok, Reels, Shorts)
Influencer approvals have a hard 7-day deadline.
The 7-day rule. From the moment the influencer approves your song, they've got 7 days to post the share. If they don't, your credit auto-refunds.
Extension requests. An influencer can ask for an extra 3 days mid-window. When they do, you'll get an email letting you know. If you're fine with the extension, do nothing; it's granted automatically. If you'd rather get an instant refund, click the refund link in that email and we'll cancel the share and return your credit on the spot.
Special-request shares. If you submitted with a special request attached, there's also a 24-hour redo window once they post the share. See the "How do I leave a review for a curator?" article for that.
