[Changelog] April 24, 2026

It's been ~1.5 weeks since I got back from holiday, and the recurring theme while I was away was that it was impossible for me to escape work - largely due to the # of customer support queries (typically 50-100 per day).

In some ways that's a good thing (because it means lots of people are using SubmitHub!). On the flip side, it begins to grind away at one's soul...

Support & Help

So... yeah, as mentioned above, the support system needs an overhaul! Luckily, I think I've made some good progress.

  • There's a new AI-powered Help chat bot, grounded in the FAQ
    • Feel free to try it out
    • It's using ChatGPT's API under the hood, but if you interact with it you'll find it feels fairly human
  • This also meant doing a huge overhaul of the FAQ - an area of the site that's been neglected for a few years
  • I've also taken steps to centralize our emails into an in-house ticketing system that we've been using for years. This includes email-threaded replies, inbound image attachments, auto-close on thanks-only replies, external-sender badges, agent attribution on outbound, and more. It ended up being quite a big project!
  • Lastly, help articles were added to the sitemap: gotta teach those web scrapers how SubmitHub works!

Chat

Been a while since the chatrooms got some love, so I tweaked a few things:

  • Multi-image upload in chat
  • New audio player for voice/audio attachments
  • Fixes to how media renders in messages (can now handle SVGs, webm, and more)
  • Bigger emojis if that's all your chat includes

Packages

Nearly 3,000 packages submitted since launching last month, and lots of lessons along the way!

  • Shout out to Color Theory from Passive Promotion for reviewing his SubmitHub Packages experience
  • One interesting stat: 31% of package submissions are AI songs vs. 21% for manual "advanced" submissions
  • There's been a ton of behind-the-scenes adjustment going on for these, and I can't really disclose all that because that's our secret sauce :)

Submissions

  • Editing a share URL as a curator now combines the where + how into one prompt (previously two steps)
  • Share URL box cleaned up (especially handy for cases where someone shares a boatload)

Miscellaneous

  • AI checker now specifies AI vs. hybrid vs. human (previously just AI or human in the UI)
  • Fixed a YouTube bug for viewer stats (thx Rufus)
  • Added "?si" to trigger opening of Spotify app using SubmitHub Links - without the "=123" (thx Andreas)
  • Curators can include an optional personal message with Gifts

What's next

I'm gonna continue with this support train for the next week or two. Also planning a big overhaul of the Ads visual side to give users more control over the creatives.

...and then! The whole SubmitHub team is going to Brighton for The Great Escape 🎉
