[Changelog] April 26th, 2024
I've been busy the last few weeks! Today I wanted to take a moment to share some of the more notable changes.
Oh, but before then, two big milestones:
- 1 million registered users 🎉
- 5 million songs shared 🥳
SubmitHub Links
In case you haven't seen it yet, SubmitHub Links allow you to create webpages that can be used for ads or sharing with your audience. They're very similar to offerings by Linktree, Hypeddit, Toneden, and more - except they're completely free and way faster.
Here's what's new:
- Color logos for streaming platforms
- You can import links from Toneden and Hypeddit with the click of a button
- You can now customize each button's text, logo, etc. (example)
- Images are being served in "webp" format for performance improvement
- Conversions API now includes fbclid on ViewContent and PageView
- You can create a smart link for any of your songs with the click of a button (visible on your artist profile and in the song details)
Influencers
Dylan and Carey have invested a lot of time into cleaning up our list of influencers to make sure that everyone's behaving (and real). On top of that, there have been a couple of changes:
- We've added support for YouTube Shorts
- You can now select multiple share formats by the same influencer (previously you could only choose one at a time). This took a few days!
- There's a new "music influencer" category that you can filter by. This group of influencers has content that centers around music - and we feel like it's generally a more valuable way to be shared on social media. We hope to grow this subset of users over the next few months!
Miscellaneous
- I've updated the section about "where they share" to be broken down by platform, rather than combining them (previous format). There's a bug with this when you filter by genre - it's showing numbers higher than 100%. I'll fix it ASAP.
- There's a link to the Artist Checker on artist profiles
- Optimized the way translations load and the way the website "starts up" when you first visit it. There used to be a little percentage counter that said "Loading translations" but now they actually pre-load as part of the HTML which means things are pretty much instant
- Revamp of "teams" function to make it easier to use
The above is only a fraction of the work done. I feel like I'm constantly chasing small bugs / tweaking code / blah blah blah. Starting to feel a bit burnt out, so I think it's best for me to close the laptop and head out for a drink with the wifey 🔥
