[Changelog] April 5th, 2024

It's been a little over a month since I last published a list of product updates. I got a bit distracted with our team trip to SXSW and a family holiday, but now I'm back at my desk and wanted to share a list of all the site's recent updates :)

SubmitHub Links

In case you don't know about them, SubmitHub Links are super fast pages that you can use for your Meta advertising, or as a link to share new music with your fans.

Andrew Southworth did a great video about it below!

Here's what's changed in the last month:

  • SubmitHub links now support Meta's Conversions API
  • When adding a Meta pixel, you can see a list of your historically used pixels and conversion API tokens
  • There's a nice geographic breakdown of views/conversions
  • When you use a Spotify track to create a multi-link, we pull in related links
  • You can reset your analytics to a specific date (useful for people testing different configurations)
  • You can set a custom background for your landing pages instead of the default blurred cover image
  • I tweaked the call-to-action portion of Link pages, moving the description below the button and adding a bit of color to the Spotify link. Hoping this has a positive impact on conversions!

Spotify

Most of the Spotify updates have been around our Playlist Checker.

Playlist Checker

  • There's a shiny new badge that indicates whether a playlist is verified, payola, or botted. If we haven't had a close look yet, there's a button you can click to get our team to take a closer look
  • You can now look up an artist to see which playlists they're on and whether we've flagged any as fake

Other

  • Curators can't shout-out to dead playlists with 200+ tracks (this is too many!)
  • The minimum threshold for a proper playlist share is now linked to the price of your outlet (for example, 2 credit price = minimum of 20 listeners, 3 credits = minimum of 30 listeners)

Hot or Not

  • Improved monitoring of harvesting from multiple accounts
  • If someone *is* using multiple accounts that's okay, but they stay capped at 100 reviews per day and will not get the same song twice
  • Ability to block a user from rating you again
  • You can share credits with other accounts
  • Minimum listen time increased from 20 seconds to 30 seconds
  • Verified reviewers get a badge in chatrooms

Misc

  • Improved the "Listen" button to preview a curator's recently shared songs
  • Curators who share cross-platform now get a fancy badge and a boost to their engagement score. The requirement is that they share to 3+ platforms on average
  • Marketplace:
  • Specialists can now enable new project-types within their broader category (eg, if you do EP reviews, you can also add albums without extra admin review)
  • Improved the flow around price revisions
  • If a curator skips a song because it isn't playing properly (eg, a broken MP3 file), the user can now update that source and the campaign will automatically re-initiate for the curator
