Another week, another batch of code complete!

I'm actually working on something big behind the scenes (to be released early March). In the meantime, I've managed to multi-task and complete a few other features. Hopefully you find them useful 🙂

Hot or Not: Genre Validation

  • I've added a new type of Hot or Not request that allows you to ask artists what genre they think a song fits into
  • The way it works is that you choose 3 genres, and I then add 3 additional genres (2 related and 1 totally random as a "control" to make sure the user is voting properly)
  • As your campaign progresses, you'll be able to see which genre(s) emerge at the top
  • You'll still get your song rated "Hot or Not" on the 0-100 scale
  • For those doing the rating, each rating will count as a normal Hot or Not review for users, just as if you left feedback

Links: Custom Domains

  • Custom domains: streamlined setup - I'm using Cloudflare's API to automatically validate and issue SSL certificates. You'll find this at the bottom of the "edit" tab for any Link
  • Once you set up a custom domain, you can use it for any of your links - not just the Link you applied it to (eg, my.domain.com/{link_id})

Miscellaneous

  • Activity feed now clumps actions by curator rather than splitting out each individual action
  • Some extra protections around chat spam
  • Fullscreen feedback box includes a note about what kind of feedback the user requested
  • When a blog shares, I sort the blog post to the top of the URLs as that's the meat and potatoes
  • Fixed a bug around position locking with playlists (thanks Rufus)
  • Syncronized the UI for artist checker and popularity checker and made both a bit more accessible via the artist page
  • Got BPM back into the mix on Spotify playlists

  • Streamlined song uploads (gimme your Spotify link and I'll do the rest)
  • Managed submissions (we take care of everything for you)
  • I've been pretty focused on this for ~3 weeks now - feels like I'm close to wrapping it up!
