[Changelog] March 17th, 2023

Happy St. Patrick's day! ☘️

This week I did a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff, so the update might not be as exciting as last week's 🥴

Without further ado, here's some of the notable updates:

  • Spotify playlisters who schedule songs to be shared can now edit the date, position and timespan of that share
  • If you're a playlister, you'll find this section in the "View detail" section of your playlist, accessible from the Spotify tab on your profile
  • Again for playlisters, I spent a good chunk of time optimizing the "auto-restore" feature that rolled out last week
  • Pretty sure it's in a good place now...
  • Curators can set a "maximum unanswered submissions" limit on their profile. That limit was "cached" on the submitter side, which sometimes meant curators got more submissions than they'd asked for. This data is now updated real-time, so once a curator hits a limit, artists won't be able to submit
  • Moved forward with a few more codey things on the Marketplace - still hoping to launch by the end of March
  • Most of the work right now resolves around selecting those "services" you'd like to get a quote for
  • Next steps are setting up the information each user must provide
  • Did a little revamp of the "Welcome to SubmitHub" email with Tilly's help
  • Matt over at Jazzfuel published an interview with me

Oh, and in an effort to optimize one of the queries around the recently rolled out "pinned chats," I crashed the database for an hour while an index rebuilt. Oops. Tilly didn't skip a beat in making light of the moment on our Twitter 😆

On the agenda for next week is a deep dive into the Marketplace. Gotta make some serious progress if I want to launch it by the end of the month.
