[Changelog] October 28, 2022

  • Waveforms are here!
  • This was a difficult project to code - I've been slowly rolling it out over the last two weeks, and finally finished it on ~Monday
  • I had to figure out how to extract waveforms from MP3 / WAV files
  • As a tangent to that, I ended up writing a script to convert WAV files to MP3 so that we can save bandwidth (which helps the environment, right?)
  • The end result is that you can now see waveforms on 99% of the songs you listen to on SubmitHub
  • As an aside, I've found that being able to "see into the future" of a song substantially changes the way I listen (mostly for the better)
  • Curators can now see the copyright history between them and a submitter
  • On a similar note, the copyright dashboard is now accessible from the mobile menu
  • Rearranged the submission UI for curators so that genres get a bit more of a callout under the artwork, rather than being buried within the content
  • Fixed the shortcut keys for the player
  • Space = pause
  • Forward arrow = next song
  • Back arrow = previous song
  • Simplified the submission flow for newcomers and those targeting someone directly
  • Much bigger callout button
  • Curators can now tell if someone sent to them directly from their profile
  • There's still one major todo here, which is to set it up so that you can skip the whole page where I show you all the other options. Not an easy one, but... will be done!
  • Teams
  • If you're a publicist or label with multiple teammates submitting campaigns you can now manage everything from one central account
  • You can send credits to your teammates
  • You can view their submissions and history
  • You cannot respond to their chats or edit their settings
  • You can export a CSV of your share stats for a specific song
  • Forgot your password but logged in via SoundCloud / Facebook / Google? No stress, I'll switch you over to a username/password setup :)
