SubmitHub Links get subdomain support

2024 UPDATE:

YOU NO LONGER NEED SUBDOMAINS! That's right: you don't need to use a custom domain anymore to run conversion campaigns, or verify events per domain for Apple iOS 14+ devices.

------

Previously:

About two months ago we launched something called SubmitHub Links. It's a pretty basic landing page that helps Spotify Playlisters keep track of their Facebook ads and improve conversion rates.

There are already two major players in the game: Toneden and Hypeddit. What differentiates our offering is that it's blazing fast and has no bloat: only 5kb + a picture, with no 3rd party tracking cookies. Magic, right?

So far our playlisters have pushed a healthy ~400,000 clicks through these Links.

Everything running smoothly, it seems. Except for one catch...

Apple vs. Facebook

Apple just rolled out iOS 14, which implements a bunch of privacy changes that impact Facebook ads. In response, Facebook has jumped through all sorts of hoops, and one of their major changes has been that you now need to "verify" you own the domain/website you're running ads through.

Unfortunately because SubmitHub Links run through submithub.com's domain, you can't "verify" them as your own.

The Solution

You can now use a CNAME record to point a subdomain from your personal website to a SubmitHub link that lives on submithublinks.com. Sound like jargon? Yeah, it kinda is. Fortunately I whipped up a handy guide here.

End result is that you can get a page like indie-funk.grishkoff.com to open up the landing page on indie-funk.submithublinks.com. And this pleases the Facebook Gods.
