Starting July 1, 2026, Traxsource is introducing Human-Made and AI-Assisted labels across its platform as part of a broader effort to bring greater transparency to music discovery. We're happy to be part of it, with SH Labs and our AI detection API helping power the initiative.
As part of this initiative, Traxsource has partnered with SH Labs and Sound Patrol to help identify and classify music submitted to the platform. The system is designed to support Traxsource's distinction between fully AI-generated music, AI-assisted music, and human-made works.
For us at SH Labs, this partnership represents something we care deeply about: giving platforms, artists, labels, DJs, and listeners better information, more transparency.
AI has quickly become one of the most discussed topics in music. While opinions vary widely, one thing many people agree on is that transparency matters. People should be able to make informed decisions about the music they listen to, purchase, share, and support.
Traxsource's new approach reflects that philosophy. Rather than treating AI as a simple yes-or-no question, their policy acknowledges the growing reality that creative workflows now exist across a spectrum. Some music is entirely human-made, and some incorporates AI-assisted tools while remaining fundamentally artist-led. And some is generated primarily, or only, through AI systems.
The introduction of Human-Made and AI-Assisted labels aims to give users visibility into those differences.
As Traxsource Co-Founder and Managing Director Brian Tappert explained in the announcement, the goal is not to stop technological progress but to ensure that the value of human creativity remains visible and respected.
