AI Song Checker

A free tool that analyzes a song and estimates whether it was made by AI. Paste a link or upload a file and you'll get back a prediction: human, hybrid, or AI.

How to use it

Go to submithub.com/ai-song-checker and give it:

  • A link from Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, or Disco
  • Or upload an MP3, WAV, or FLAC file

You don't need an account. Guests get 2 free runs per IP per hour; sign in to keep going past that. Song needs to be at least 30 seconds long. Accuracy improves past 90 seconds, so the longer the sample, the more confident the result.

How detection works

Two models run in parallel and their findings get combined for a final verdict:

  • Spectral model: turns the audio into a visual frequency spectrogram and looks for texture patterns that are typical of AI generators
  • Temporal model: analyzes how the music unfolds over time (melody, harmony, rhythm transitions), checking whether the song's flow feels human or has the quirks AI tools tend to produce

Combining both gives a more reliable read than either model would on its own.

Limitations

No detector is perfect. A few specific weak spots:

  • Heavily edited AI: if someone runs an AI track through mastering, re-records vocals, or manually blends AI with human performance, it can fool the models
  • Very short clips: Spotify 30-second previews work, but full uploads are more reliable
  • AI evolves: as generators improve, the models need retraining. We update them periodically, but there's always some lag

Rating results

Every result has thumbs-up / thumbs-down buttons. If you know the truth about a song and the model got it wrong, please tell us. That feedback is the single most useful input for the next model update.
