[Changelog] November 6, 2026

It's been a while since the last update! A few of the bigger changes already got their own posts, so I'll keep those short and link to the full write-ups. Everything else is below.

Quick reminder: SubmitHub turns 11 on November 10, and the "save11" coupon works until then (more on that here).

Without further ado, here's what's new:

App detection for Links

This is probably the highest impact change! SubmitHub Links can now tell whether someone actually opened Spotify (or Apple Music, YouTube, etc.) after tapping through from your ad, and only tell Meta about the ones that did (how it works).

  • Every Link shows an "Opened in app" rate, broken down by device, app and country, and there's a public stats page that updates daily
  • We tested it on 660 SubmitHub Ads: the ones with app detection paid about 10% less per app open, and Brazil paid 41% less (see the results)
  • Based on that, app detection is now on by default for every new SubmitHub Ad. For your own Meta ads, you can turn it on in the Pixel section of your Link's settings

Ads Studio

The Ads Studio got a big overhaul:

  • Songs and Links now have a Videos tab
  • "Make me 3 videos" creates three drafts from your song in one click
    • You can add instructions to steer the clips and hooks
    • Here's one where I prompted "snakes" - you can see both the video content and the captions adjusted to that
    • You choose whether the videos are for social media or for ads (social posts are written in the artist's own voice)
  • We're using these templates as easy starting points:
  • Videos can cut between up to 5 clips on the beat of your song - looks way more professional that way
  • Vibes: pick 3 clips you like, we find more that look like them, and your future videos can pull from that vibe - this is still a work in progress
  • Whole new video generation backend, which means more features!
    • On the font side: TikTok-style captions, a serif font, word pop that snaps to the beat
    • On the filter side: black bars, color grades, a tape effect
    • On the audio side: select which part of the song plays

SubmitHub Ads

  • Last update I mentioned we were testing cost cap vs bid cap to see if it does better:
    • Cost cap cost about a third more per conversion - so yeah, it lost
    • The app detection stuff is gonna solve this problem better, I think
  • Finished ads can be restarted on the same Link instead of having to "duplicate"
  • Cleaned up the "Ads" section of each Link

Links

  • Analytics got a revamp. Pretty much all the same data, just organized way better
  • There's a new "bot" section that shows you all the non-human traffic we filtered out
  • On Android, Apple Music, Amazon, Deezer, Tidal, SoundCloud and YouTube Music links got improved deep linking

AI detection

  • If your song is blocked by the 85% rule and you think we got it wrong, there's now a "Request a review" link on the song
  • The AI Song Checker draws a chart over your track's waveform with the human, hybrid and AI scores for every 10 seconds of the song
  • Curators can open a detailed analysis from the AI popup on any submission
  • And here's a bit one: the % values for temporal/spectral results are now gone
    • Too many people were getting confused. If it says "11% AI" that means "there's basically no chance this is AI" - it does not mean "this song is 11% AI"
    • So instead of trying to explain that over and over and over again, I've removed the percents. An overall confidence score still remains

SubmitHub Plus

SubmitHub Plus lets power users get more out of our free tools (full write-up):

  • 100 checks a day instead of 10 on the AI Song Checker, What's My Genre, Bot Checker and Popularity Checker
  • Email alerts when a track or artist's popularity score changes, or when an artist you're watching lands on a playlist we flag
  • 10 credits for a 30-day pass, or 8 credits a month with auto-renew

Free accounts still get 10 checks a day, and the Popularity Checker and Bot Checker now work without an account too (2 checks a day).

Getting started

Last update I said I wanted to keep simplifying the submit flow. Some progress there:

  • New artists see two clear options on the home page: See packages or Submit to curators
  • New accounts get a "What brings you here?" question, so we can point artists, managers/labels and curators in the right direction
  • If you click something that needs an account, you land back where you were after signing up
  • Packages: you can upload an unreleased song right in the package flow, and the package descriptions are easier to read
  • The credits cart got a redesign, and you can now buy as few as 5 credits

Curators

  • When sharing to Spotify, you can tick "Lock it at this position" to keep the song where you put it
  • SubmitHub Direct: day-by-day stats per traffic source, an option to hide the Submit Direct button on your profile (while still using your page elsewhere), a copyright setting, and teams can make Direct owner-only
  • When you come back from a break, your oldest scheduled submissions go out first so they don't expire while they wait
  • Really Good Bloggers can skip the blog post when the artist didn't ask for blogs (you'll see a note when this applies to you)
  • Playlist syncing: Tidal links can be pasted to fix sync errors

Teams & account

  • Teammates can see and export the owner's Songs tab
  • Joining a team now needs the owner's approval, with a clearer breakdown of what each role can access
  • Teammates see the team's custom domains on their own Links
  • Sending credits to another account is now one flow, with email verification
  • You can disconnect a Google, Facebook or SoundCloud login yourself
  • Our refund policy is updated: purchased credits don't expire, and unused purchased credits can be refunded within 6 months

Miscellaneous

  • Chat rooms now have message limits: 40 a day and 150 a week per room (#curators is exempt)
  • Images that are too big get compressed automatically on upload instead of being rejected
  • Genre detection, moods and lyrics now fall back to backup servers when our main GPU provider goes down

What's next

Same as I mentioned in the 11 year post: better curator targeting, better Meta ads, and a potential revamp of our influencer offering. I also expect to add playlist syncing to SubmitHub Plus.
